Baton Rouge
Baton Rouge. It was a long ride in but everyone made it. We found out that Noelle will be leaving us due to complications with her nose :( The Blue Barracudas are really going to miss her positive attitude and her wonderful work ethic. The build site that we worked with had us nailing together boards most of the morning. There wasn't enough work for everyone so we all took turns with the hammers. I got some pretty good shots of people in action. We saw a really awesome lizard on a tree when we were taking a water break. I also met the most adorable terrier mix on the build site! Dogs make my life better :) After all of the work was done we headed back to the host. We were locked out for a while so Tiff, Brettly and I wandered around back and tried to get in but we were unsuccessful so we just shared a strawberry granola bar and talked about life. After we got into the host Mark lowered the projection screen, which made the stage pitch black. I had quite possibly the best nap of my life! (Bike and Build takes naps to the next level) After my nap Mark and Corey walked with me to a local place famous for it's root beer floats. The floats were good but the conversation was better! I got to share my philosophies on animals and shelter dogs, rescue dogs and pit bulls with Corey!! Any time that I can share what I know about animal rescue and pit bull education I am overjoyed. After floats we all hung out for a while and exchanged back rubs. Dre, Sonja, and BWalsh all got into their sleeping bags and did caterpillar races :) SO SO funny! Some of Brettly's friends visited as well so the team got to meet them also. Dinner was donation magic pizza and doughnuts :) After dinner we busted out the bounce house and Alyssa got some really awesome shots of people jumping into the bounce house. Afterwards I was able to talk to Kelly and leader Sonia for a while. I really love bike and build.
